From process data to production management: Liman-Tech at the NPPA forum in Kazan
At the forum's collective stand we showed a chain from a video stream to a shared data bus: Larus-100 on Astra Linux with OpenSoftPLC based on 4diac FORTE and Strix.Gateway calculated flotation froth parameters right on the controller.
On 20–21 October 2026 Liman-Tech took part in the III All-Russian forum “Industrial Automation: Creating the National Industrial Automation Platform” in Kazan. At the collective stand we showed a practical chain: video analysis on an industrial controller, calculation of process parameters and their transfer into a shared information environment.

The collective stand of the forum in Kazan.
The demonstration was built on Larus-100 running Astra Linux with an OpenSoftPLC environment based on 4diac FORTE and Strix.Gateway software.
Using a recording of flotation froth, Strix.Gateway tracked bubble movement and calculated speed, direction of motion and the distance between bubbles. Processing ran directly on Larus at about 25 frames per second in the verified stand configuration. The operator saw the video with trajectories, current parameters, trends and output states.

A processing frame from the stand: froth movement is turned into parameters available to the operator and other systems.
The calculated parameters were sent to the single data bus of the collective stand of the “Open Process Automation” working group. The video analytics results became available outside our controller. This is a practical example of open architecture: equipment and applications from different vendors exchange data through agreed interfaces. This is exactly the compatibility checked by the distributed NPPA stand.
Liman-Tech was also the only participant of the collective stand in Kazan that sent data through the IT Bastion solution. For an industrial customer this is an essential part of the task: process data must reach analytics and control systems with controlled exchange between network segments. This way plant-floor information can be used at the upper levels while the networks stay separated. More about the IT Bastion approach.
The use of this architecture goes beyond a single stand. In mineral processing, froth parameters can complement process sensor readings: help the operator notice a change of mode, compare the work of flotation cells and check recommendations for process tuning. At plant level the data can be compared with throughput, energy and reagent consumption, and product quality.
At the forum, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vasily Shpak stressed the importance of both process control systems and enterprise management systems for industrial efficiency. This emphasis matters to us: process control has to be linked to production management. Report on the speech (in Russian).
Liman-Tech works at both levels: from signal collection, equipment diagnostics and local control logic to production analytics and integration with enterprise systems. Shared data is needed by the process engineer to choose a mode, by maintenance to plan service, by the production manager to assess load and losses. An open bus gives a basis for this interaction, including connection of MES, ERP and analytics applications. The working group’s approach to an open data bus (in Russian).
You can start working together from a specific production task and the data you already have. We survey the site, define the required measurements and success criteria, check the solution in monitoring or advisor mode and prepare it for deployment.
